Father - Daughter Dance
Don't make dad cry...at least until he gets the bill for your wedding!
As a Dad, I'm sure I can speak for millions of men that dread the day when they have to give their precious little angel away. It was a day that I didn't look forward to at all.
As a wedding entertainer (I always loved weddings and it helped finance my career as a composer) at over a thousand weddings, I nervously watched the Father-Daughter Dance. I always felt bad for the Dads because I could see how stressed out they were. Some had complete meltdowns...not good!
Fortunately, my daughter chose “Unforgettable” by Natalie and Nat Cole. It was a song with a happy vibe, and with the help of the bridal party, who were a bunch of “live wires,” I made it through. Whew! I was glad when it was over!
I recently wrote the song, “Waltz With Me, Dad” which is perfect for the Father-Daughter Dance, or any time a father would like to dance with his daughter, which is anytime, or a daughter wanting to dance with her Dad.
The dance can be a simple, hug and sway to the music, a simple waltz step, or a more choreographed routine. You can find many dance lessons on YouTube or take a dance class.
I played all the instruments for the song and hired a beautiful singer, Elsa, for the final studio recording.
I hope that “Waltz With Me, Dad” will bring you and your guests some joy on your wedding day and help your Dad make it through!
